Hey, do you have trouble making your way through CARS sections? Do you feel like you're just "not good at reading"?
You've come to the right book! This book shows the exact process needed to carve your way through even the toughest CARS passages. You'll get the right answer every time.
How can I be so confident that this book will help you? Well, this is the exact process we used to get our own 130+ scores on CARS, as well as taught to our dozens of MCAT students who also scored excellently. I didn't get my 5 star review on Google for nothing!
1. How can I trust that this book will help me? I've been studying for CARS for a while and I haven't improved at all.
If you've been studying for CARS for a while and you haven't improved at all, it's probably because you're studying the wrong way.
Everyone tries to study for CARS like every other section. But it's not every other section! CARS is purely skill-based. There's no content involved in CARS.
So, flashcards won't help. Neither will note-taking. The only thing that will help is learning a process (through this book), practicing the process (through this book and Khan), and then improving on the process whenever you have trouble (which I describe how to do in the book).
2. Does my slow reading speed really not matter for CARS?
Really really. The process I'll teach you for CARS relies on not reading the whole passage. Instead, you read only the parts of the passage that help you answer the questions. Your reading speed doesn't matter if you don't have to read the whole passage!
3. How is this book different from other MCAT CARS books?
Those other CARS books tend to be written by people who don't do timed CARS passages. They just write about them. That's why they suggest stuff like taking detailed notes or, even worse, don't even bother telling you how to analyze a passage. They'll just say, "You should have already known that this specific detail was in sentence 15 of the third paragraph. That would have given you the answer!"
This book, on the other hand, is written by someone who has done a lot of timed CARS passages and taught a lot of people to do timed CARS passages. Every piece of my process is battle-tested in the actual MCAT.
